The Festival of Books in the Alleghenies celebrates diverse perspectives and stands against injustice and inequality in all its forms. We are dedicated to nurturing an environment where all writers and readers feel valued, welcomed, and empowered, regardless of their race, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, or physical or intellectual disabilities. We believe in the transformative power of literature as a vehicle for nurturing understanding and overcoming prejudice, and encourage everyone to read more, learn more, and love more.

A fund of the Community Foundation of the Alleghenies, The Festival of Books is a regional event supporting Bedford, Somerset, and Cambria counties in Pennsylvania.
